This company has been in business since 1924 and has developed one of the largest diamond resale businesses in the word. Zales is not a diamond wholesaler, they are a consumer company that deals with high end and reasonably priced consumer jewelry, but specializes in diamonds. Bringing low priced diamonds to the public has been the focus of this company for almost one hundred years. They are now considered to be the premier diamond retailer.

The Zale Corporation’s story begins when Morris and William Zale opened their first jewelry store in Wichita Falls, Texas in March of 1924. The Zale brothers revolutionized the marketing strategy that has become an industry standard only one year later with their introduction of the payment plan. The original credit plan was only one penny down and one dollar a week. This single concept changed the way that people would buy diamonds forever. The new marketing strategy also made their jewelry store an overnight success and lead to a lot of expansion in the following years.

Later in 1946 the Zale corporate headquarters made a move from Wichita Falls to Dallas, Texas and currently is now located in Irving, TX. The Zale Corporation expanded its business into many different markets through the years, but has always been focused on bringing the highest quality diamonds to consumers worldwide at the lowest prices possible. This company now has over almost two thousand stores worldwide and has become the diamond reseller of choice for many. They expanded their business by taking it to the internet in 1998 and this has also helped there continued growth and availability to consumers. Zales is now without a doubt the best known name in the diamond business.
