Toyota

This company got its start in early 1957.  They brought their first car the “Toyopet” to the American market this year with little success.  Later in 1965 the popular Toyota Corona sedan was released.  This 90 horsepower sedan is the first car in production by Toyota that really gave them a stronghold in the American auto industry.  Years later the Corolla was released and this would seal the deal and make Toyota a permanent fixture in the automotive industry.

The company has always focused on higher mileage vehicles which has made them even more popular with consumers in recent years. Now that a gas friendly and more economical car is what the consumers are looking for they have expanded their brand and also come out with some of the most environmentally friendly vehicles on the market. 

Toyota has expanded the company by creating a few sister companies under different brand names.  These companies include Lexus and Scion.  Both companies have found new ways to bring specific design and feature sets to different consumer target markets and very successfully we must add.  The Lexus brand has developed a higher quality luxury vehicle for more mature drivers, where the Scion brand has created a newer look that appeals to the younger car buyer.

This company also lays claim to creating the very first gas/electric or “hybrid” car, the Prius.  This has become one of the company’s flagship models in the past few years will be sure to help them move forward and continue to innovate the way cars are made.  Toyota is one of the leaders in eco friendly vehicles and continues to drive the industry for low emissions vehicles in the right direction.
